Follow the yellow brick road...

Sarah Hurley - Illustrator & Craft Designer - Crafts, Illustration, Inspiration & Vintage

Its here Sarah's 3rd edition of the
Lookbook a freebie book
Its a must for stunning artwork and ideas
 from the design team
and also :) included is my clock.
I have used the images from Sarah's Oz Digi & Scrapbooking kit which I coloured with
Promarkers and then cut out to go on the clock.

How I made the clock , I used a MDF square which I marked out the road
in pencil.
I then painted  it with white gesso and let it dry.
I then  mixed Gesso and yellow acrylic  paint for the road
and let it dry overnight,
The next day I darkened the road and added the green paint and then stippled dark green to make the grass and give the clock texture.
After that I used a brick stamp to stamp pigment ink onto the road and embossed it with clear embossing powder,
I then placed my figures on the road and glued them down with PVA glue. For the numbers I used papermania  glitter numbers . Instead of 10 its Tin and 2 is OZ just to give it the "OZ" feel.
Once I was happy with positioning  of everything I then  painted over it with glossy accents to ensure it lasts.
Finally I fitted my clock mechanisms and I have a lovely working clock.
Thanks for stopping by.
Let me know what you think
