Proud to be Guest Designer for Lacy Sunshine

I was so proud to be picked as Guest Designer for the Lacy Sunshine Challenge Blog, to sit next to the talented bunch of designers is an honor.

So here is  

Rosalind she is one of Heather's new Melancholy  Moppets.

She is such a stunning image. I decided I would go for the Steam Punk feel and added loads of LAYERS. I coloured Rosalind in the Warm grey spectrum of Pro-Markers. I mounted the image on Core'dinations black glitter card.

This was then mounted on Tim Holtz Core'dination card which was embossed with a Papermania cogs embossing folder,  and then distressed with the sanding block this was mounted on black card . I then used a piece of 6 by 6 warm grey cog paper from the Chronology range from Papermania. mounted on black card, This was then mounted on a 8 by 8 rust paper from the same range continuing with the cog theme , mounted once again on black card . If you hadn't realised the theme is LAYERS.

To embellish  the card  I used black and cream ribbon with an added clock charm.

I then made some core'dinations  spiral flowers backed with cogs to resemble leaves then added a brass cog and mini cogs from the spare red card.

 Hi Its that time again , its Imagine That digi challenge where everyone's a winner once you get on board. Once you have bought this challenges image and enter your card you get the next challenge image free. I was lucky enough to get on board in challenge 1, when their initial image was free :). Therefore I have had the last two free :) :).

This challenge is a beautiful Easter image but you could actually remove the sentiment and add your own. this is the good thing with digi images. I have left the images as it was and used an ornate spellbinder die to cut out the image. I then inked the die cut around the image. i coloured the image with pro Markers and then coloured a separate image and cut out the coloured butterfly and lilies and mounted them on 3d silicon gel,

to finish off I mounted the oval on 3 d tape on a kraft card and added a double ribbon bow

Easter "Bunny"

Its that time again  , its our 3rd Challenge at

Sincerely Yours Creations 

 and this time its Easter. I have used Dottie Bunny from Bugaboo which was printed then cut out using an oval spellbinder, I then coloured it with Pro-Markers. I used distressed ink to colour the oval in a chocolate brown, to make it look like a chocolate egg. I have used backing paper from a Crafters Companion DVD and backed it with Stampin Up Card.

The lace was cut out using a Stampin up Punch and finished off with egg shaped gems. I then made complimenting spiral flowers to complete the card.

Background tutorial

I was asked how I had produced the background on my Fairies Card.  So Here's how.

1.I use Inkylicious ink dusters , they are like big shaving brushes and you dab them in the ink, then dab off on spare paper so you get rid of some of the ink then apply like Tim Holtz foam. Starting on the outer edge. I find that with the foam I put too much on but with the brushes you start off light and build it up.

To get the 3 layers I used photocopier paper.

 2. I got all my equipment out.

 3 & 4.I first added the shadow with alcohol inks on the plant pot then put the paper across from the top where the table would be /ground then dusted the duster gradually building the ink up.(TO GET THE INK ON THE DUSTER YOU DAB INTO THE INK THEN DAB OFF ON COPIER PAPER)

5. You can see my dab off on the copier paper, this removes the excess and makes the application smoother.

6. When I was happy I moved up to the next layer, which was the yellow again the paper on from above and added that layer.

7,8 &9. Then finally I put the paper covering the yellow and brown and dusted on the blue layer

I usually colour my images in first, so any small areas that need filling i use a small stipple brush

Double Trouble

Here is my card for today , Its Pickles  Dino Ride from Lacy Sunshine, I don't know if I have told you yet but I just love theses stamps. This was the freebie stamp from Heather for this weeks challenge and I just love it.

 I have coloured the image with Pro-Markers and added the mountains ,sun etc to create a scene. I do hope you like how I think I have brought them to life. The backing papers are from the archaic Basic Grey range .To complete the card I have added foot print ribbon and a bone button.

Fairies

Here is my card made with the free image from Just Some Lines, this weeks theme is Fairies . When I saw the image I knew I was going to have to have it and enter their challenge too,she is so cute I just love it.

I have coloured the image in Pro Markers and the background is made using distress inks and my brushes from Inkylicious, I do like using the foam but the brushes give me the finish I like . I then took some off whit roses and coloured them with the pro markers. I mounted the image on 3 layers of different card and then finished it off with Lace all form Stampin up . the backing paper is from Annabelle's garden paper pack which is mounted on garden Green Stampin up card. i then finished the whole card off with a rose red butterfly with added bling.

The Colour Green

 Its got round to that time again its the Ginger Loft new challenge The Colour Green. Being on the design team ,this was the image I decided to use Its is Mermaid Scene 2 I just love it  :). I have used pro markers to colour the image, then added H2O paints to give the tail a glisten (this doesn't really show up). I then used green distress ink to give it the watery look. The backing paper is a digi paper that I made using Serif Craft Artist. I then added the transparency to the paper to make it look like water.

Complimenting this with  some images of seaweed to make the setting more realistic. The image and backing paper were mounted on to green card from Stampin up, the card is an 8 inch square.  To finish the card I have used glossy accents to stick on dew drops which look like bubbles.

Spring Blossom

The  Spring blossom is on the tree's on the Isle of Man, and I think this reminds of cherry blossom. I have used the large winter tree from Visible Image for my tree and embossed it with WOW embossing powder on to a large decorative spellbinder circle cut from midnight muse card.. I made a similar card in yellow and blue for my Sincerely Yours Creations design team card( don't for get to enter the theme is Mother's Day) scroll down through my cards to see it. That card is in England for my Mum and this is for my darling husband's Mum. I cut out mini flowers ,used a ball tool to shape them added with pva glue then added liquid pearls to them in baby blue. The back ground is using the tree branches and stamping with midnight muse and pretty in pink ink from Stampin Up . I then cut out circles in co-ordinating card , spiraled them and made the small flowers. I used a Spellbinder to cut out the banner and stamped with with Mother's day from the happy mothers day stamp from Visible Image and added a small happy.

Fairy Fae with Ribbon

Well I am PROUD to say I have been chosen to design for      

 I consider myself  very lucky to join such a talented bunch of ladies. So here is my first card.

 I have used  the Fairy Fae digi image from Delicious Doodles.Which I have coloured using Pro-markers and then added Sakura glitter pen to make her wings come alive.

 I then mounted the image on co-ordinating card and framed the image with  Baja Breeze ruffle ribbon. this was mounted on to a piece of first edition card.I then added Baja Breeze seam binding ribbon down the side with a double bow. To tie the card together I used another of the Fairy Fae images and just used the butterflies. Which I coloured the same as the main image.and added them over the main card .The complete card is on a 8 inch square Hunkydory card blank.

My new found love,are Heather Valentin Digi images. Here is Eleanor & Pickles feel better soon new digi images( I have just found out I will be guest designer for the next Lacy Sunshine Challenge :) :) :)) . I think they are both so cute. I have coloured the image with Promarkers  and added the background colour with distress ink. I then mounted it on real red card from Stampin Up and added faux stitching. This was then mounted up on some red polka dot paper and red card again. I finished off with some chunky red bakers twine.

A gift for you

Just a little something for today, I have decided to Create a tag and use the image provided by Just some Lines.A wonderful pile of presents which would look great on a card or tag. I took a normal kraft parcel tag and coloured the digi image with Promarkers , then cut the image out and stuck it in the corner. I then took Salty ocean distress ink and coloured around the side. then using small stamps I stamped all the way round. to finish off I added a balloon button(less Shank)

I have quite a few birthdays coming up in March so it will be very useful.

Imagine that two...

Here is my St Patrick's Day card for 17th of March. Inspired by my free digi image from Imagine That Digi Image Blogspot.


 I joined in their first progressive challenge and if you didn't but want to join in you need to purchase the current image, enter by March 14th and you will automatically at the end of the challenge  get the next challenge Digi  free. I chose to use Kathleen and coloured her with my Pro markers and also the Dance if... sentiment which I added ruffle ribbon to. I added tiny gold gems for her earrings  I mounted her on 3d foam on some  old Papermaina backing paper I just love greens. This was mounted on daffodil delight and garden green card from Stampin Up. The St Patrick's day sentiment is from Hero arts.

Sister Act Card Challenge DT Call

Sister Act have asked for us to pick our 3 favourite cards (this wasn't easy because you don't get to see them if I don't like them), I have picked the following three each is very different . The first is made 

 with the movie set from Visible Image. I like it because its what I saw in the stamps. You dont ever have to do  what people expect .

 The second card is clean and simple, and you have to know  when  to keep your cards that way.

 The third card is me finding Digi Images, I love this image and card so much, it just makes me smile.

Each card  I make is a piece of me , and I wont settle until its just right .I also love ribbon with a passion.

 I enjoy stamping and have many, many. stamps I like that you can take a plain piece of paper and make it into something stunning . But digi images are so cool, I  like that I can own so many more  and my husband hasn't a clue :) :) :), alcohol inks just bring the images to life. I hope you like my card selection but its worth having a look through my blog and you might pick different to me. Do tune in on regular occasions, I have many cards due to be blogged.

The First...

Yes its the first of March , and that means its my first card for the Design team at Lady Anne's Challenges,

I am proud to be designing using Nana Vickie's images. It is our 4th Challenge and take a look at the image I have used.
.My image coloured

So here is my finished card, I have used Nana Vickie's image and coloured it with Pro Markers. I then cut it out so the I could put a one layer decoupage  on the image. I used distress ink for the background.

I mounted the image on Stampin up card, the background card is 6 inch square, i then covered it with paper from my stash, I think its the English Stamp company paper but I have had it years. I then cut out the top layers of pennants from another sheet and applied them with 3d tape. To finish off  the card I used some of the ruffle ribbon in riding hood red which was in last years mini from Stampin up, to form the rosette.I printed the sentiment.
