A bit of Bling

Hi Folks it's Tuesday and that means it is a new Creative Card Crew
Challenge.

 Our sponsor this week
If you win the challenge ,you  win $15 voucher
 to spend in the shop.
For my card I have used pearlescent pink card and a grey patterned paper. I have coloured the Lacy Sunshine image, coloured  in with alcohol pens ( find a selection of Copic pens in the store), I used pro-markers. I then printed the image on vellum , so I could cut the dress and scarf out, I coloured the
image with alcohol pens on the back and embossed with a embossing tool. I used gems and pearls on the dress,
scarf,waistcoat  and jacket.
I used my inks and brushes
to finish the background off, then cut the image out with a spellbinder die and mounted it up on 3d foam.
To pull the whole card together I added a grey ribbon
around 2 layers.
Many thanks for calling by,

Lots of Layers

Hi folks, its Monday again and that means it's our challenge at Artistic inspiration,

this weeks theme is "Lots of Layers"
Our sponsor isSassy Studio Designs
and the winner  of the challenge will be able to choose 4 digi images from the store.

Here is my card and I have used the
which I coloured with promarkers. I think it would be great for wishing a young lady luck on her prom night. I cut the image out with a spellbinder die and used my ink dusters and distress inks to colour the background. To create the layers I used a blue and silver patterned paper (can't remember which company ,sorry!!) which I layered up on black card, I then added white doilies to give more layers, all theses were mounted on A5 card.  To finish off I cut  some flourishes in black and made some co-ordinating flowers in black and teal, I used a scallop punch from Stampin Up and for the leaves I cut silver holographic flowers and mounted the flowers on. The finish in touch was on of the crystal gems from Crafters Companion Frou Frou range.
Thanks for calling by please let me know what you think .

A quick card :)

Hi folks here is a quick card for me, I have been busy doing DT work and things for work this week . So I decided to make a fun card tonight. I have used the freebie image  from Lacy Sunshine Challenge Blog  .
I have coloured Morris with my promarkers in warm grey monochrome, I used my brushes and ink to shade the card in similar tones (pumice stone & black).
I then mounted him on black and warm grey 1 paper,
(I coloured the white dots) added gems to look like stars and a "cheeky" little sentiment.

Sarah Hurley Design Team

Hi folks here is my first official project using Sarah's wonderful kits it is from All Sewn Up ( I have completed work for the up coming challenge and the new Lookbook, but thats for another day ;) ). (Click on the picture above for a direct link)
Here is my hybrid card, the great thing is because Sarah has designed for Serif and Craft Artist her digi kits will work with the system. What you have to do is bring them into the program as photos then take them to the work area, then from there you drag and drop them into the section you want them in . Don't forget papers can also be materials. Once you have done this with all your embellishments papers etc. You will need to save the kit, and it will then be there next time, don't forget to call it something  you can remember.
So what did I do, once I had loaded my kit into  Serif Craft Artist Professional . I picked a 8 by 8 square and brought papers and elements in until I was happy. The happy birthday was an element I already had.
Once I was happy I printed my page off twice. The first one I cut down slightly so I could mount it onto the pink card, which I drew faux stitches on. Then I decoupaged
the patches, dressmakers dummy , lady ,crochet flowers and the ribbon. Which I mounted on 3d foam. To complete the card I added buttons (normal & scissors)
Thanks for calling by let me know what you think.

Hi I have been waiting to share my guest designer card with you.
So here it is .
Their new challenge has gone live and its always anything goes , so don't forget to enter your creations.
Today is my darling husbands birthday,
Happy Birthday Steve xx,
so I decided to use a masculine image from
I coloured it with my Pro-markers and then dusted over it with distress inks.
The backing card was stamped using Stampin Up inks with the Visible image crackle stamp and bubble wrap.
I then used some scrap paper and made a collage that I embossed with the Spellbinder "Kickin Rubber"
embossing folder and sanded down the image.
The Tyre track is a Visible Image stamp  that I separated for single track .
To finish the card off I added some knotted ribbon with some co-ordinating sentiments from Kanban .
Many thanks for calling by ,please let me know what you think.

Here is my card made with the Butterfly and Hibiscus image.
I have coloured the image with my new Graph it pens, they are very rich in colour, and decoupaged it up.

Torn & Distressed

Hi its Sunday and its a new challenge from us at
The new challenge is "Torn & Distressed"
For my card I have used the Bon Voyage Digi which can be found in the vintage section.
This card really took me out of my comfort zone, wherever that is.
So what did I do,
I first embossed the back layer of coredination card  and used the sander to bring out the pattern.
I then used digi papers that I inked tore and rolled to make the next 2 layers.
The final image the first layer was printed on copier paper , scrunched up and then I went over the creases with distress inks.
I then printed another of the images on better quality paper
and coloured it with my Promarkers .
I cut out the elements I needed and mounted them on the image  .
I embossed the trimming on her hat to make it stand out.
To finish the whole card I added a bow in co-ordinating colour but I first went over it with my heat gun so it looked slightly withered.
Thanks for calling by.
Please let me know what you think .

Spring fever

Morning this is my card for today.
I have made it with the freebie image from Lacy Sunshine
The current challenge is "Spring Fever "
So what did I do ,I first punched out the image with  a large circle, I then coloured the image with pro - markers, to complete
the image I used my ink dusters and distress ink.
I then mounted the topper onto a green scallop circle punch,
punched out leaves in co-ordinating colours.
The topper was mounted on 3d foam with the leaves also mounted on the same foam.
The card is from Craftwork cards and is already decorated with the flower design.
To finish off I made daisies , with sticking 2 flower punches together and adding liquid pearls to the centre  .
These were then mounted on to 3 d foam and scattered on the card.

Look up at the Sky

Hi , yes its that time again it's challenge 34 from

The theme is Hand Made Flowers,

The winner will get 3 , free digi's

To create my card I have used the " Look up at the Sky" digi isn't she soooo cute.
I have used a shaped card I think from HunkyDory and covered it with paper from Stampin Up, I then cut a spellbinder shape in card in similar to the card.
The image was coloured in pro markers, I added a few more tufts of grass and used distress inks  & brushes for the sky, I added birds and bee ribbon. My hand made flowers are daisies , I punched out small flowers and double mounted  them and added a gem for the center, I also made the small rose type using the 6 petal technique Hels Sheridan  shows the technique here but she then covers them with UTEE, I didn't , but did brush over them to co-ordinate them with ink to my picture.I used the ribbon leaves to finish the card off.

Anything but a card,

Hi Its my  first official week joining  Abbie's Team A at Artistic Inspirations
This weeks challenge is anything but a card and
our sponsor is

The winner of this weeks challenge will receive 5 digi images.

I decided to use
sunflower 1
I love sunflowers, I decided to make a wall hanging for the kitchen. I used the large size of the MDF hearts from Indigo Blu.

Which I painted with white Gesso mixed with a yellow acrylic paint, once dry I added green acrylic to the paint and using a stencil brush added it around the border. This was left to dry overnight in the morinig I added some gold giliding wax around the edge. While the heart was drying I coloured my 2 sizes of sunflowers with Pro-markers. Then I cut them all out, most were just the small flower heads but for the border I cut out the full flower. I then used "live your dreams" stamp from Visible Image and stamped in Black Stazon. Once I decided where I was placing the flowers I stuck them down with PVA glue which dries white. Once dry I  painted with clear gloss due to it being hung in the kitchen.

New releases at Imagine that!

Browse the Store
Hi just thought I would let you know its the 15th and that means Kris will have new releases in her store, (write on your calendar to check on the 1st and 15th)

Today's releases is Skipper's pocket you can either go for black and white outline digis,
colour digis
and/ or frog in my pocket digi papers
 which are lush.
If you click on the photo's it will take to the brand new section in Kris' blog.

Here are 3 cards I have made with the new digis and papers

This is using Skipper in the flower pocket which I coloured with Promarkers . I decoupaged the flowers and decided to hand stitch around the denim square. I finished the pocket off with a large brass brad and added a sentiment.

For this card ,I lightened the denim (which Kris doesn't mind) and then printed it off then put it back in the printer and printed the pocket without Skipper. I once again hand stitched, I used the pocket stitching  marks to stitch over, and for the seam I paper punched the lines before I stitched them, I mounted the pocket on 3 d foam on the outer edge only and added old brass  large brads . This is an ideal pocket for giving money as a present to a man or if you used the flower pocket for a lady.

My final card was using the beautiful flowers paper I printed 2 pieces (I usually use Picasa to manipulate my photos and it comes up with a 13cm by 18cm size and you can get 2 pieces on an A4 paper)I cut it down to the size I wanted and mounted it on rose red card from Stampin Up this was then mounted on the corresponding yellow dotty paper, then on an A5 card blank. I cut out some of the flowers and decoupaged them on with 3d tape to the image (see below). To finish off I added beads to the centre of 2 of the yellow flowers and a round sentiment from Craftworks Cards.
